Google Analytics - "New Visits" Criteria

Hello Search Watch-

I was wondering the Google Analytics criteria for "New Visitors." If I am testing out keywords I would think Google would figure me out and then never count me as a new visitor. Yet, it seems like the Google memory is quite short - less than a day. Then my testing visits gets counted as new visits. I am not really so concerned with myself - but with other visitors. How long between website visits until a web surfer is considered "new" again?

Is this amount of time also applied to Google anticlick fraud in Adwords? So if the same IP comes back the next day and clicks then this would be counted and charged as a new visitor?

My view is that once someone visits your site they should be not considered a new visitor for a year. Other views?

well is new if not cookied or if they are wiped... but they are also broken down by month i thought... will have to look at this closer

So are you saying Google puts a cookie on the computer of the surfer if they click on an ad? I thought this only happens on websites.

Hello Aussie-

Google policy of two years expiration of Cookie. I don't think this applies for Google Analytics and Adwords. I believe this applies if you use Google to search or a webpage of Google for one of their programmes {aka programs - US). I will be testing my analytics with some funky keywords.
