Yahoo paid directory worth it?

Hi,

I'm tempted to try the paid Yahoo directory but I've been reading directories carry less weight now.
Do you think it's still worth the money? I'm in a situation where I can't throw money around (yet!).

It depends on what niche you are trying to improve your rank for... botw.org could be a cheaper alternative - another good directory

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention I'm trying to improve my rank in web design and online marketing/seo. Which I guess is one of the most competitive markets around

Don't discount the relevancy of directories other than Google:

Yahoo has always been worth the buy, it's all about whether or not you if really want to fork out that much money for a directory listing.

yeah Yahoo, like Demoz is one of "those" directories that have a good history and value.

It's a good link but $299 and recurring yearly. At least every year you can claim it in your tax return.

In my opinion Business.com and the Alive Directory are a better value.

I would still go ahead and get the Yahoo Directory Listing. It's a trusted site, and a human edited directory.

I would also get Best of the Web, as well as Business.com as well.
