linking strategies

Hi everyone,

This is my 1st posting and am sure certainly not the last :P

I would like to xchange my knowledge with those keen on exchanging information for the following queries i've:

a) Is it better to opt for 1-way linking? if so, why?

My arguement: 1-way links are good, but I always feel there are too many conditions getting them for a client like the issue of "permenant one-way links" " not more than 10links per page" etc etc

Is there any site which can guarantee you a "permenant link" ? Not to my knowledge!!!

If all sites that offer 1-way linking agree to not more than 10 outbound links per page, and if all webmasters try to put their links in that page, is it really going to be 10 links per page? If not, I will add my link and my link would be placed on a 2nd links page which wouldn't be indexed by google and has 0 PR.

b) Is reciprocal linking better than one-way linking?

My arguement: I feel yes its more systematic as long as its handled properly! My clients offer me 25 sites per month for ongoing link exchange and donot prefer one-way linking for many good reasons!

I understand there are many loopholes in both strategies. Can anyone come up with a feasible solution for my arguements?

Ps: Kindly comment on the performance of these softwares:
