Google Analytics Tracking Code Modification

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows if, I change my GA code to track across multiple domains and sub domains would I loose historical data?

change the code as in get a new account - yes

add new code from same account number - no

Great thanks Aussie. Yea we went from one domain to two and just wanted to add the second domain to the existing analytics account without effecting the historical data from the other domain.
