google denying url removal request

Can someone advise how I can get some obsolete urls removed form google index.

The pages have been deleted and my server returns a 404 error for these pages. I have also disallowed the urls in robots.txt.

But my url removal requests keep getting denied with google's usual lack of information as to why.

Re: google denying url removal request

I would create 301s for those pages to appropriate pages in new site,,, why give away the SERPs

Re: google denying url removal request

I've searched the net for a possible solution for the problem and I found out that Google has transfered their URL removal to webmaster console. I don't know that is bit I have also read that it is more functional than before.

Re: google denying url removal request

I've searched for answers and I found these reasons.. The search terms you entered appear on a live page. (no they don't, my name is gone), The URL you submitted no longer returns as a result for the search query you entered. (yes it does, try it and see), The cached copy of this page has already been removed from our search results. (no it hasn't, try it and see),Your search terms appear only in links to the page you submitted. (no, they appear in the cached version), You've recently submitted a duplicate request. (no, the first request wasn't a duplicate). I found these reasons at google. Hope I helped you.

Re: google denying url removal request

You can also log into google webmaster tools and use their internal tool to remove the URLs.
