robot.txt not in root. Problem?
I used a third part vendor to set up my shopping cart. I have been reviewing how they set up the robot.txt file and found something strange. On the server you can see that it isn't in the root directory. Instead, they have put the file in a skins sub folder. Essentially, they are redirecting the server to point to the correct file. This makes sense to me when we are talking about the sitemap. I can tell google where that is. However, what will a bot do when it looks for my robot.txt and can't find it in the root directory? Is this an issue?

Re: robot.txt not in root. Problem?
no as the file will only apply to the folder it is in
