Help with domains with keywords and doorway pages

Hi there, I just wanted to know if anyone has had much experience with doorway web pages.

I don’t know if I have used the correct terminology.

Basically we have a business website. E.g. malsgroseryshop.com.

We have purchased. E.g. groceriesaustralia.com.

Our website is currently under the 1st url and we want to leave it there.

Would redirecting users from the 2nd url to the 1st work?

Would we have to build a 1 page website instead of the redirection?

Or would we have to create a full website and create links to our existing website?

Basically we want to come up in 1st page of search engines for our selected "local" key phrase but are finding it difficult because of the competition.

Key phrase example only: groceries australia.

If anyone has had some positive results please give some ideas to help.

Hey there thanks for the reply.

So realy the only way I can take advantage of the domain name which has our product/service key phrase in it is to move our whole website to the domain or create a new website which has some links to our old website.

Is this correct?

I want to back up here a bit and look at your basic premise. Do people actually search for [groceries australia]?

Actualy yes, 590 people searched for the term "groceries australia" in the past 12 months.

In relation to the key word, it was only an example and has nothing to do with the key phrase we want to us.
