i have read this information wich is referenced "Sullivan, D. 2006. Nielsen / NetRatings Search Engine Ratings. 2006, 1 June.", on a submitted paper but i haven't found it on Nielsen website. please, can someone submit its associated link. a more recent information is desirable. thank's.

The do it by looking at the page that brought them to the search engine... if it is a direct or bookmarked or initial page it can be seen as a search engine.

Basically they are saying if you want to search the web you use a search engine not randomly try and find it first.....
