Google update and drop in traffic?

Hey everyone.

Recenly we are seeing a decrease in our google organic traffic. Although the rankings for our top keywords remaing the same... Does it have anything to do with recent "google update" that calculates site's page rank differently now??

Many thanks!

Re: Google update and drop in traffic?

If you've done absolutely nothing to your site since the last index crawl, the factors have to be external. It's possible someone just "out SEO'd" you and moved above you in the rankings.

But if it's as you say and your rankings haven't changed, but are losing traffic it may any number of factors including SERP display text, seasonality, general industry buzz, etc. SEO can't be performed in a vacuum... any number of non-SEO factors can play into traffic increases and decreases. But SEO can definitely help you fix the problem once you identify the factors that have caused the change.
