Google’s drop-down menu, which was introduced in late November as part of the “next stage” of its massive redesign, is history. Google will revert to an updated version of the black navigation bar that began appearing just ahead of the launch of Google+.
When the Google bar was redesigned in November, Google said the goal was to reduce clutter. Apparently users didn’t like it, as Google noted that, based on feedback, there were “some elements of the new bar that we could improve.”
Rather than a drop-down menu with icons for each Google service, horizontal links now run across the top of Google’s pages – +You, Search, Images, Maps, YouTube, News, Mail, Documents, Calendar, and More, which brings up a drop-down list of links to Translate, Offers, Wallet, Books, and even more.

Google said the new Google bar will roll out “over the next few weeks.”
