Google Rolls Out Special Analytics For Boutique.com In Time For Fashion Week

Google announced its ’boutique analytics‘ for its fashion site – Boutique.com – with Designer Analytics for its design partners and Trend Analytics “that gives curious fashionistas a view into the latest, site-wide fashion trends.”

“Coinciding with New York Fashion Week, which kicks off today, Boutiques.com introduced two analytical tools — Designer Analytics for designers and Trend Analytics for the consumer. It also unveiled recent boutique additions Michael Kors, Jil Sander, Thakoon and Billy Reid — bringing the amount of designer partners to nearly 80, up from 30 three months ago when the fashion site launched,” WWD Media reported.

Google includes information from their Stylyzer Quiz with each partners information “giving them insight into how their products are searched, shopped and loved.”

“Trend Analytics that gives curious fashionistas a view into the latest, site-wide fashion trends. Using aggregate data from both Boutiques.com and Google Search, it shows the hottest colors of the season, the most-loved products and the must-have trends,” Google stated.

One has to wonder if the boutiques – hundreds of thousands of them – want their information shared. This could be especially true of the major fashion designers the site has as partners including the recently added Helmut Lang, Michael Kors, Billy Reid and Thakoon. The fashion industry is highly competitive, so we will have to wait and see how the buzz about Google’s new offering hits the runways.
