Less than a week after Google rebranded Webmaster Tools as Search Console, the company has added indexed app content to the service.
The update allows Search Console users to see how their app content is performing in Google search results through the new Search Analytics report. For example, users can track where their indexed app content shows up in search, which app pages are the most popular, and which ones have errors.
To add app content, users need a Google Play account to let Search Console know they have access to the app. The Search Analytics report provides details on top queries, top app pages, and traffic by country. Users can filter by a specific query type or region, or sort by clicks, impressions, click-through-rate (CTR) and positions.

To avoid confusing or incorrect results, Google will not show deep links for app pages in search results if it has trouble indexing the app content. Google has created a alpha version of the Fetch as Google to help users check if an app URI works.
