Bing Extends Facebook Likes to All U.S. Search Results

If you live in the U.S. and have connected Bing to your Facebook account, you should now see integrated Facebook Likes whenever you conduct a search on Bing.

If one of your Facebook friends (or multiple friends) have ‘liked’ or shared any pages that Bing shows in your search results, a picture of that friend, along with a note saying “X liked this,” will appear underneath the page info, Bing announced today.

Liked results won’t appear all the time in Bing, as they are query dependent.

When Bing first announced its partnership with Facebook, Likes were integrated in a separate “Liked By Your Friends” module. This was later expanded.

Google also recently integrated search and social (although Google’s results don’t include Facebook data). Blekko has also made your Facebook Likes searchable.

As Erez Barak wrote earlier this week, “now more than ever, search is deeply aligned with social.”
