SES London 2011 Features Sessions on Search and Social Marketing
SES London 2011 is just around the corner. It will be held Feb. 21-25, 2011, in a new location. And it will feature a number of significant changes to the conference agenda that reflect the new branding of SES as “The Leading Search and Social Marketing Event.”
Let’s start with the new location: The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Broad Sanctuary, Westminster, London. As you can see from the photo below, the Centre is uniquely situated amongst Big Ben, Westminster Abbey an The Houses of Parliament.
Known as one of the most technologically intelligent conference centres in the UK, the QEIICC provides wireless internet access throughout, digital signage across seven floors, and high definition audio visual equipment. And the Centre’s imaginitive yet uncomplicated style of food has seen them win the gold award at the Meetings and Incentive Travel Awards (M&IT) for the past three years.
And take a long look at the conference agenda for SES London 2011.
Following its re-branding earlier this year, the event has expanded its conference to include education in social media marketing in addition to search marketing and online advertising. More than 14 new sessions will focus on a range of topics that go beyond search, including new ad formats and social media marketing.
In addition to the sessions on search marketing which continue to be much in demand and heavily attended, the new sessions include:
• Key points in launching a Global Website
• Marketing to the European Union
• PPC Beyond Search: New Ad Formats, Display & Social
• Enterprise Level SEO
• Ads in a Quality Score World
• Is Search Remarketing/Retargeting Right for You?
• Crossing the Digital Divide: The Leap From Search to Display
• Video Search Optimisation
• Killer Facebook Marketing Tactics
• SEO Through Blogs & Feeds
• Making Money With Affiliate Programs
• Search, PR and the Social Butterfly
• Speaking Geek: How Marketers Can Work with Web Developers to Achieve Business Goals
• Social Media & the Marketing Mix
There’s also a 15th conference session reserved for a late-breaking topic.
Mike Grehan, Chair of the SES Advisory Board as well as Global VP Content for SES, Search Engine Watch, and ClickZ, says, “We have extended SES to cover a range of new areas focused on maximising reach and growing businesses through online marketing. In 2009 more than £15bn was spent on advertising in the UK with over 24% coming from spend online. Areas such as social media marketing and VoD have seen huge growth in the last 12 months and SES London will teach delegates how to enhance
their expertise in these fields.”
By the way, those aren’t spelling errors in the post above. That’s the correct spelling of “Center”, “optimization”, and “maximizing” in the UK. And £15 billion British pounds sterling is about €17.7 billion Euros or $23.6 billion US dollars. In other words, it’s a ton of money.
And don’t be surprised in there are a lot of attendees at SES London 2011 from other countries around the world as well as the UK. It’s one of the “must-attend events” for global marketers. You can get a sense of this by watching the SES London 2010 attendee testimonials in the video below.

I should disclose that SES is a client of my agency. But trust me on the spelling.
