Google Bouncing Balls Did Spell Hidden Message
Yesterday’s curious Google logo mystery is almost solved. Many blogs and broadsheets were wondering what the meaning of the logo was, as uncharacteristically, the logo did not click through to a search and had no ‘alt’ text explaining what the logo was commemorating.
Contacting Google’s PR department for a response I was given the same message as everyone else was reporting. A spokesperson referred me to a recent tweet and simply offered this cryptic explanation for the logo, saying it was “fast, fun and interactive, just the way we think search should be”.
Pressing them further (yesterday) I was encouraged to keep a tab on the Youtube.com/google channel and this morning I received an email with details of an event to be held at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco.
Speakers include:
The event will be broadcast webcast on Youtube at 9:30am PST (12:30pm EST).
What do you think they will announce? “Fast, interactive and fun” – doesn’t that sound a bit like Google streaming search results recently discovered by an SEO?
To add fuel to the streaming results fire, a new colorless logo has appeared today which colors itself in with each keypress. The speaker list strongly also suggests another change in the UI.
