Video search sites like blinkx, yahoo video, google video, truveo, youtube, etc allow you to search for tv clips, home videos, commercials, video casts, and the like. In some cases you can watch right there, or maybe you can download & watch on your whatever player.
TV verticals like tv.yahoo.com, tv.msn.com and tv.com are more content-oriented, showing actors bios, maybe some clips, show info, etc.
But if you were running one of these tv sites, wouldn't you want all the craze (searching for and watching/downloading video) to be happening on your site instead of in a different place - on video search?
To me, its the same thing. These sites should be one in the same. But am I missing something? Is there a reason they should stay separate?
Thoughts?
