After a solid week of debauchery for most of us at SES, I always talk to people who seem a little blue after coming back home after having experienced SES, because this is a chance to bond with other people who 'speak our same language' and be understood and further our contacts and knowledge base. But in addition we were subjected to GREAT parties, excellent company, nice hotels, good food, a (near) unlimited supply of alcohol and an overall great time. So, how does one go from all of that to coming home and taking out the trash and digging through emails? I thought I would post a 10 step recovery to leading a normal life again.

1. Keep drinking (just slow down the pace and soon your liver will be back to normal)

2. Download all of the OZOMATLI songs from iTunes (the band that played the GoogleDance)

3. Replay to 20+ messages still left on your cell phone from people asking "Where you at?".

4. Laugh at all of the stupid pictures you took on your camera phone/digital camera.

5. Go through all of your notes and try to comprehend what you were thinking as you scribbled them.

6. Read all of RustyBrick's excellent SES Conference coverage here. (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?threadid=863)

7. Keep visiting http://www.google.com/googledance2004/ waiting for the GoogleDance pictures to post (where are all of the pics G?)

8. Find reasons to call all of your new friends from SES (What was the login for the PowerPoints again?)

9. Book your hotel early for SES Chicago so you can actually stay in the same conference hotel (but train for a few 5K runs in preparation for the long walk between the Hyatt and McCormick Place Convention Center)

10. Visit SEW Forums (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com) often to keep up with whats going on and visit with your SES pals. :)

too funny. Sad, but true.

a few things to add:

1) desparately attempt to catch up on sleep lost between the week and your red eye home, with several naps throughout your first day home, so you have more energy & collective thoughts to post on SEW Forums (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com).

2) keep an eye out for all the video interviews of you and your SES friends on CBS marketwatch:

Attendees share bids/other Google thoughts:
