How do I see the Page Rank?
I've downloaded Firefox and the Google toolbar, and done a search for star27 ( a site I've submitted), yet can't see any PR anywhere.
???
How do you view these figures?
Han.

Click on the Google Logo, select Options, then on the Browsing tab, check the PageRank Display box. Understand that by doing so, you'll send Google a record of every page you view. They can't send PageRank back, otherwise.

Ok thanks. I got it now. I thought it would show PR in www.google.com, but I learned you gotta put the website you want in the address bar.

I was thinking, If Google are listing sites partly using sites that certain people have gone to that have also got the PR on their toolbar, this gives an unbalanced perception of popular sites?

Hi Han and welcome. I merged your two threads since they were so similar.
The answer to your latest question is a difficult one. It's kind of like asking "is life fair?" You should read this article (http://www.webworkshop.net/pagerank.html), or others found by searching for "explain pagerank" or something like that. This would help you develop your own convictions about the fairness or unfairness. Look around and you will see many professional SEM's that maintain that PageRank is useless or doesn't even exist.

Thankyou, Chirs,
I think the best answer so far is to distinguish between site traffic and site popularity/outside links, in that it is only a unit of measurement for link popularity.
