Hello

I have released a new metasearch engine. It searches more than a dozen web search engines, merges the results, orders them by relevance and groups results from the same web sites together. Here is a link to it:

Seekz Metasearch (http://www.seekz.com/)

It is at an early stage at the moment and is currently an alpha test. I would be greatful for any feedback.

There is also a new Mozilla/Firefox search plugin with a simple two click install. It adds Seekz to the existing search engines in the Mozilla search box. Please give feedback on it if you install it.

Thanks
Paul

Please don't take offense, seekz, but I just don't think a new metasearch engine is going to take off. There are tons of really good ones out there (and yours may be one of them), but none of them seem to be making a dent in the market. Now, perhaps, if it was a vertical, it might have a chance, but otherwise, I think it's a waste of time. Just my opinion only, of course, but I see them a lot, and none seem to do more than make a short-term buzz that quickly fades away. Good luck with it anyway.

Thanks for your comments. I am glad you like it. Can I ask what you like best about it and what needs improving?

Thanks for your comments. Seekz is a non-commercial metasearch and it is my University project, so for me to get a good mark it does not need to compete with anything, it just needs to work well and have no bugs. Seekz will continue after the lifetime of my University project and it would be good if it was popular. I will add more features eventually. Can I ask what type of vertical search you had in mind? Any ideas would be good.

Ah well, in that case, seekz, congratulations on a job well done! :) I didn't have any particular vertical in mind, but I was thinking along the lines of maybe manufacturing, b2b, legal, medical, etc.
