According to the powers that be, there are various ways to optimise your site for different languages/regions:
Localised Hosting
Domain name suffix (.fr, .de, .es etc)
Sub-domain (fr.mydomain.com, de.mydomain.com etc)
Language Translation
However, how do you target 2 languages for one geographical region?
There is an excellent article from Anne Kennedy on these forums (http://searchenginewatch.com/searchday/article.php/3371721 ) about the use of the Spanish language in the U.S.
There are various analagous opportunities in Asia.
She goes on to state "Search engine marketing starts with search optimization architecture."
Does anyone have any experience of "Search Optimization Architecture" - or links to studies, resources, white papers, tips etc - it would be really appreciated.
