Today I noticed a very strange result in Yahoo for one of my sites. Let's say that this site's name is www.madeupname.com . Until today, wehn I searched on madeupname, my site was listed at the top. Today, it is no where to be seen. This madeupname is of no search term importance. When I type in www.madeupname.com or madeupname.com the site appears to be still listed. Also sub-pages are listed still. As a matter of fact the subpages are appearing, but not my home page whe I type madeupname. This site is listed in the Yahoo directory and I haven't done anything spammy with it. At least that I am aware of.

I did just recently re-organized several pages on my site to new pages. There are a lot of standard 404s (no redirects) and new pages now on my site. Does anyone have a clue why this could be happening?

Is it possible the reference to the home page is there without the www ? or do you use index.html as the backlink?

Thanks for the reply. The page is actually indexed today on the first results of the Serps. Yesterday it wasn't. However, today, the indexed page that is showing up is about a month old. It looks like they did not drop my site, but for some reason they are pulling up older versions of pages. I think I may know the reason now. About a week and half ago, I had a DNS problem. This site was not visible to the general public and crawlers for about 14 hours. I am thinking that Yahoo is just slow to refresh its index and has not displayed the current results. The same thing happened with Google, but the Google plays catch up a lot quicker and all of my current pages are indexed within 48 hours.

I think it is just a waiting game for a week or so to see if they display my current pages.

Thanks for the response though!!
