Well, it's that time of year again where Fortune magazine ranks the top 100 companies in America to work for. Factors include pay, benefits, employee satisfaction, perks, and more.

Microsoft came in at #42.
What makes it so great?
The software king offers what may be the most generous health-insurance plan in America. The premium is zero, with no deductible. And it's the first U.S. corporation to pay for therapy for dependents who are autistic.

Yahoo came in at #73.
What makes it so great?
The dot-com spirit lives at the Internet portal, which makes its debut on our list. Onsite amenities include massage, haircuts, dentistry, car wash, oil change, foosball, bocce, free lattes, and stock options for all.

With the media obsessed over the perks of working at Google (gourmet meals, roller hockey, 20% time to work on independent projects), it's interesting that Google did not make the 2006 list.
