One of my clients with a very large database driven site has seen good results with the Google SiteMap XML system and wants to do something similar with Yahoo!. The Google SiteMap system was set up to handle large sites by breaking down the URL files into 50,000 count files and having a master SiteMapIndex to list the individual SiteMap files.
Looking at the Yahoo! site feed submission there does not seem to be a way to break it down in simlar fashion. We want to keep it dynamically generated so having a pregenerated gzip'd file would not work. A feed of over a million pages would take too long to generate and likely result in a timeout from Yahoo!.
Anyone use the Yahoo! feed for large sites such as this?
