Yahoo had been referring far more people to my website than Google for a long time, but that all changed this month. Overall, from all search engines and other sources, I now get about half of the visitors as I did last year--I think this week it's been even less than half--and I improved EVERYTHING this past year. More and better content, better design, validation, fewer SSIs, and probably stuff I forgot. I wish I could pay the search engines to rate my website manually so I get the referrals I deserve.
I do syndicate someone else's blog, but the creative commons license allows it. I also quote small amounts of text from other websites, and I summarize and partially rewrite educational material from another website, but that's on new pages that I expected to help my website.
I guess I shouldn't expect decent stats until I add the blog that I was thinking about. I was hoping the site would stand on it's own with infrequent updates but I guess not.
