Having worked for 5 years in SEO in London, I relocated to Thailand. I am wondering if there is anyone who can give me some advice. I recently placed requests on freelancers. net and now have eight sites we are working on, both on seo and link building. I would like to know if there are other methods of gaining work in this field.

v9, you might want to get out and about and mingle with some local business-people. I know there's a Chamber of Commerce in US cities, they have meetings and mixers, and there's always Toastmasters International which is all over the world.
There are often small networking groups in local areas, but other than just hearing about them by word of mouth, I'm not sure how they would be found. See if there are any local trade organizations locally - and sometimes even social or civic organizations are a good way to get connected with people in the area personally.

Hi Marcia,
We do go to many networking and Chambers meets. This is Bangkok and whilst the building and estate agent reps from the company do make valuable contacts, unfortunately (perhaps) the average age of the farang workforce is about 50, who can just about grasp the concept of a website let alone SEO. Not exclusively, but generally. I am doing very well in the UK with one agency but want to expand this.
