Hi,

We have recently added our site www.hotgift.com to yahoo directory. After doing so, we realised that our site title will show up on yahoo search as "Hotgift.com" instead of "Hot Gift Ideas, Unique Gifts and Holiday Gifts from Hotgift.com".

How can we customize our site title just like redenvelope.com? They are listed on yahoo directory as well and when doing a search on yahoo for redenvelope, the full title will show up instead of "redenvelope".

Million thanks.

regards,
Ee Loon

You need to make a change request:
http://add.yahoo.com/fast/change

You probably also got information about how to request a change in the email you got from Yahoo! when you got listed.

Keep in mind, though, that you can suggest a title--but it's all up to the editor.

If your're searching through Yahoo! search, then the title tag will be used for the title of the site. However, if you are searching through the Yahoo! directory, then the title you supplied them with when submitting to the directory will be used.

hi Simon,

yes, that is the problem. When searching through Yahoo! search, the title tag we supplied to yahoo! directory is used instead of the title tag of the site.

How can we change this?

I visited http://add.yahoo.com/fast/change as suggested by bhartzer. However, it is stated on the site that:
"For companies, the title submitted must be the company name. Any request to change a title to something other than the actual company name will be rejected."

Any other suggestion? thanks
