Hi,
I wanted to get some clarification about 12002 and 204 errors. Running a broken links report I found that a site had a number of these errors.
To the best of my knowledge the 204 occurs because a page has been "empty". I looked into this one and discovered my client had an image link on page A pointing to page B; page B 302'd to page C. When doing this exercise via a browser this would be seemless for a user. Obviously it will create problems for a spider.
The 12002 error is an internet time out. Again, not noticed by a user. However when this is reported can I assume that the spiders will fail here as well?
Logically I say to myself I want a clean report - some of the pages receving the 12002 are in Google with title and snippet but no Cached version or Similar pages.
Any wisdom would be very helpful.
