View Full Version : System error on log in

I did that awful thing of moving my Adwords login to a Google Account. Now when I login I can see the customer ID but that's all except for 'A system error has occurred' message. I can't log out either.
From inside My Client Centre I can't see the campaigns either - when I click on the account the same error message appears. However, I can run reports on the account from the MCC.
Google are not responding to my cries for help - as I cannot manage the adwords and so am losing money, I am not best pleased.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong and how I can fix it?
Many thanks

1st try this:
Purge your browser cache
close the browser
Check task manager to be sure the browser is REALLY closed
(or just restart the machine)
Log back in and see if that cleared things up.
If this isn't fixing it, do a screen shot of the error and send it to Google. I've always found them to be really responsive!
PS: As of 4:36 EST on 12/6/05 - I show Adwords down.

Thanks for the advice. I had tried that and also deleted all the cookies. No joy.
I can't agree that Google is responsive. I got an automated response 2 full days after I reported the problem. Then silence for 5 full days, during which I emailed various contacts at Google and faxed their office in London.
Finally, almost exactly a week after reporting the problem, a very nice and apologetic person from adwords support phoned me and said that the problem had indeed been a system error with them and had taken all this time to fix. It was apparently 'rare and complex'. All I did was upgrade from an Adwords login to a Google Account, so I don't find that quote very convincing.
He agreed with me that the problem was not so much the time it took but the utter lack of communication from Google while it was being fixed. Bear in mind that for a week I could not stop Google from charging me a lot of money for a campaign I could not see, let alone control.
I do not think a week to resolve a problem with significant financial implications is acceptable, and for me at least Google's reputation has been damaged.
A further minor problem with no financial implications (old MCC email addresses showing in client accounts) has still not been resolved today, 13 days after it was reported and 6 days after I was told it was being addressed.
