Hi,
I read an interesting article: http://www.marketertoday.com/archives/2005/06/costperclick_cp.html

According to it, the ad at the bottom of an ad unit pays only minimum CPC which is $0.01 now(not $0.05 anymore). Does it make any sense? So it's possible for popular keywords that has top 4 ads pay $3 CPC but only $0.01 for the bottom one.

Is it right?

Many thanks.

The absolute bottom ad would pay it's minimum CPC. The minimum CPC could be $0.01 to over $5.

eWhisper is correct there - in fact, if a bid on a keyword is below Google's minimum bid the ad will not appear at all and the keyword will be designated 'inactive for search' within Google AdWords.
