This search news, from The Inquirer

According to the Inquirer,

"REUTERS reported that CBS is talking to both Google and Yahoo about storing TV shows and news archives.
And in another demonstration of convergence, the BBC said yesterday it will be streaming some of its live TV coverage on its web site.

But convergence of PCs and broadcast technology could be as threatening to big outlets like CBS as online news has been for print titles."

The Y & G media tentacles are indeed spreading, albeit slowly.

Two examples I came across this week:

1. DAN Media out of Montreal serves content and ads on big digital screens near food courts. Yahoo is partnered with them to provide the news component. It seems that Yahoo gets nothing from this deal other than brand visibility (the big Yahoo at the bottom of the news area).

2. City TV news here in Toronto uses Google Earth as its map for some news stories now! Why not. It's a more interesting map than the one they used to use, and can probably be customized to be even better for a specific city. Again, Google gets nothing out of a deal like that other than an important relationship, and branding, I'm guessing.
