With the recent Jagger update, and with any major algo change or update on Google, comes speculation and analyzation of that change.

I have been reading a fair amount recently, as has many SEO's I am sure about the recent changes Google has implemented in their search algorithm.

I have been lucky enough that although one of our websites got penalized temporarily, most of our rankings have gone up, for reasons I think I know.

Recently I have read much about whether reciprocal link building is over with the Jagger update. In other threads I read how SPAM and irrelevancy is being faded out. In others I have read about other strange issues Google is dealing with during this algo change/update.

My belief is Google updates their algo from time to time as they have been over past years. These updates really are to increase revelancy and the quality of the SERPS. The reason for all the shifting and irregular results is b/c so many of us try to take SEO as close to the edge as possible in order to gain that little edge in a competitive market. When Google decides its algo change time, they often tweak the algorithm in ways which punish those who cross the line or come a little too close to the edge..

One common element I have noticed in the sites Ive been monitoring for years, the well built, informative, content rich, popular and sites which follow Google's guidelines do best in the SERPS year after year.

The SEO's you rarely hear about losing dramatic placements and rankings are those that I believe employ the tactics needed to attain longevity in the ranks. It is those sites that utilize strategic thinking outside of the normal SEO box, and those sites that think alot more then reciprocal linking and useless content that succeed over time in Google!

If one is to employ proper design, html, use of CSS, on-page SEO, quality, useful and relevant content and natural link popularity, I would think no matter the change Google implements to their algo, those sites will remain constant in the SERPS.

Cheers
