Hi,

The problem:
Let's say we have a website that is listed in DMOZ. As you already know, dmoz provide listing for a lot of mini directories.
When you search for this "dmoz websites" that link to you, with link:www.example.com you get, amomg others, a list of websites that feeds from dmoz.org.

The question:
Some sites are listed in more "dmoz websites" some have few.
Is a trigger that will list your site in all of these dmoz sites?

The solution:
This is what I am waiting.

I think what you are asking is if you are listed in DMOZ, then why are you not listed in all directories that use DMOZ data, right? I would think the answer to be that there may be directories that tweak the data so that it is not exactly the same. Their data may also not be the most up to date as well. They may have used a data file 2 years ago and not updated since.

There is no trigger.

As David says, Dmoz data users are frequently out of date. Only those that scrape data live from the Open Directory will be bang up to date. The others pick up a new copy whenever they want to. Some never update at all. So the longer a site has been listed in Dmoz, the more links it will have from dmoz clones.

Also some Dmoz clones only use part of the directory. Some parts may be more popular than others with data users.

So, there is no possibility of telling those web sites "Hey, a new site was added!"?

You could always try. If lots of people nag at them, it is possible that some clones might update more frequently. Frankly though, the ones that are serious about attracting searchers will already be updating regularly. The others are liable to have very low Google PR and send no traffic.

I'am sure that the serious ones are updating more frequently.
