Hi There,

How long would it actually take for a PPC Campaign to deliver good results ie. gain momemtum. As per my experience and to my understanding, I believe it takes about 1-2 months.....but I've hearde people say that results can be derived/seen immediately after campaign activation....Is that True ? if yes, then how ?

I just finished re-working a colleague's AdWords campaign. There was only one ad group (and one ad), with maybe 7 key words. Now, there are 4 groups with 5 or 6 targeted key words for each group, and ads titles and copy that reflect the key words. I expect the colleague's results to be better immediately (any results would be better).

My number one issue with the colleague is that you MUST put significant money behind your campaign. You CANNOT say "I'll try it for a few bucks for the first month, and if it doesn't work, I'll stop." If you do that, you are doomed to failure in this endeavor.

My 2 cents.

It really depends on several things IMO - the competition you face, proper keyword selection, good compelling ads, etc. Some can do well right away while others will take some tweaking and adjusting.

I am just now running reports against my server logs to see where I'm getting the most SE traffic from over the past few months. I will re-visit my keywords based on the info I derive. One thing for sure - in a competitive landscape like Chicago Real Estate, simple, obvious terms, like "chicago realtor" can cost tons of money for the #1 position. But "remax chicago realtor", or in my case, "koenig and strey realtor", is much cheaper, and provides more targeted audiences. A better bang for you buck.

I have to say if you dont have a plan, and have a good strategy in Google Adwords you will lose money. What I whenever I begin a campaign I set my max CPC high but still lower than what Google suggests. Then about 2 to 4 hours later. I decrease the max CPC, once I have a CTR. Then from there keep on improving my ads by split testing. Also keep on trying new keyword variations. This is the basics of it.

I handle a number of Adwords account, and quickness is different for all of them. My suggestion is to focus on good ad development, but then make sure the keywords you are using really generate the traffic necessary.

My suggestion for tools to review search popularity:

Overture (http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/)
DigitalPoint (http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/)
NichBot (http://www.nichebot.com/)
Webmasters Tools (http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/keyword-research-tool.shtml)
