::: Google Has Finally Added The "Retrieved Date" To Its Cache Pages :::

Marcia, do you recall when the text only cache option was added? I certainly don't remember seeing it before today, when I went looking after your great post.

Hi Danny,

We noticed the change on 06/15/04.

Also, as of yesterday 07/28/04 we noticed another change made by Google.

They have added the retrieved date of the page.

Since we monitor Googlebot's date and time it arrives, we can say that these times are accurate to the second (give or take 1 or 2 seconds on some occasions).

Yep, thanks for the heads up on that time thing. There's one new site they've already updated the cache for twice in about a week or so - they come by for the page about every day it seems. Nice!

This page on a brand new site in progress was just turned loose with a link just a few days ago - already fetched and cached:

The times are interesting to see, this is SO fascinating. Those two pages are both linked to from the same page.
