Is there a way or searchengine that would allow searching of speacial characters and symbols , like [> , <-]> , -..
Somebody suggested to google to get info about them , but i couldn't figure out how to go about this.

btw if you do happen to know what the above mean , don't tell me as i am trying to figure out something myself.

Give any suggestions you have

ta

Hi Chesss

I don't think that the major search engines will allow you to search on any of the special characters you mention.

I know that e.g. Google uses:

+ (plus) to mean 'include this word in the search';
Google will search on _ (underscores);
~ (tilde) before a word means 'search for this word and its synonyms'

But a search for just > (greater than - for example comes up blank.... whether you put a plus sign in front of it, or put it in inverted commas......

Hi Chess,

That’s interesting. I tried a bunch of search engines and A9.com was the only one that accepted symbols like < and actually returned results. Not sure if any of those will help you, but I hope they do.

I’ll let you know if I find anything else.

Thanks for the headsup about A9. Very useful !!!

About my query, i managed to search for it after getting a hint that the 'script' : +++++>[-+++]..-- etc was related to a programming language . the name of the language? brainf*** ! No wonder it was difficult to find.

I had another problem where the code was something like .--- --- --- .-. . etc. Aby idea abt this ? I searched for 'dots' and 'hyphen' , spent a lot of time, got an headache, then it struck!!!
Anybody up for a puzzle??;)
