Does a Compound Listing indicate Authority?

When Google lists a site at position number 1 and uses the compound listing style*, does that say anything further about Google's opinion of the site --like maybe its authority status?

It means that you have a bunch of pages ranking for the same phrase. There are a number of ways the word "authority" is used these days, but my guess is that multiple rankings don't necessarily signify any of them.

I'd think a better place to ask this question would be on this thread about this type of result....
