Marketwatch.com is making available a pdf/color timeline (http://cbs.marketwatch.com/newsimages/misc/search_engines_timeline.pdf) of major events in the web search business dating back to 1995 and focusing on public companies.

Wahoooooo!!! Great find Gary!
Didn't Goto.com (http://searchenginewatch.com/sereport/article.php/2165971) start back in February 1998? So they are listing based on the IPO date, with the exception of Google of course "opens it's doors in Sept. 7, 1998". Hmmmm...
We've got to give a big credit to the Google IPO for bringing a lot of press to our SEM industry.
Muchas Gracias G:):)GLE !

[Apologies that this query is not directly related to Search Engines... :( ]
Does anyone have any idea on how to print out this wonderful timeline? Using Acrobat reader (which is all I have available for pdf files) I can print it on a single page - far too small to read, even with a magnifying glass - or else I can print the middle section only at a readable size.
It would be so useful to have this up on my office wall.
Cheers to all.

They forgot Monday, October 25, 1999 - probably the most significant date in the evolution of search. Certainly the date that was the beginning of the end for Altavista - which had been the #1 search engine on the web....
History is destined to repeat for those who don't learn the lessons of the past

Hi Guys,
Hope you can help.
I have ordered Acrobat 6 as I am currently working from Acrobat 5.
I am sure I am right but I would like it to be conformed.
Can I resave my Acrobat 5 documents into Acrobbat 6, so the documents would be in Acrobat 6 format, which would be better for accessability and I hear Acrobat 6 has meta tags to.
Anyway can I resave into Acrobat 6 from Acrobat 5??
Thanks
