Hello everyone, I wonder what everyone's thoughts on the current Google algorithm is. It seems to me that in it's efforts to prevent over optimisation and lot of SERPS for a lot of terms have become very very poor indeed.
I find methods such as h1 and close keyword proximity do not work anymore, but instead Google now prefers all the words of target phrases to be absolueltly well split up. If say all three words of a target phrase appear together there must be lots of single occurances of individual words and the words in different arrangements to counteract a possible over optimization trigger.
Has anyone got ideas on how to rank in the new algorithm, am I right about keyword proximity being much much less important these days?
Also I wonder does Google detect if a place name is in the search query - such as Dublin, Ireland, kent, paris etc. The reason I'm asking is because I have seen many SERPS for some pretty competitive phrases which for example might be 'KEYWORDX ireland' and the top few pages have plenty of occurances of KEYWORDX but only one or maybe two occurances of the placename. I think Google's logic is that this one occurance good be an address/office location thus the page become very relevant for the phrase 'KEYWORDX ireland'.
Anyhow just my two cents. Let me know your thoughts.
