Hi folks, I am sure this question is an easy one for all you search pro's :)
One of my clients changed there domain name, but a lot of there old links are still appearing in google results. The google result links go to dead pages. I would imagine a reindexing in the future would clear out the dead links, but I was thinking is there someway we could take advantage of the dead results that are appearing?
I was wondering would it be better to automatically redirect all traffic to the new site, or should we customise the 404 page on the old site with a link to the new site?
Do you have an opinion on this situation, or are we better just waiting for google to reindex and remove the dead results?
What do you recommend?
