I have just recently started AdWords campaign on Google and wanted to get a feedback on my ads from customers. To my surprize, about 95% of people that I unscientifically surveyed said that they either didn't see any ads on the right side of the page or simply ignore them as not relative.

Is Google aware of this or I just run into "dum" customers?

There are a few versions of FireFox that for some reason do not show the ads... and there are other people who never look at the ads at the right - they do think the ones at the top are part of the organic results...

Regardless you will get the clicks and ultimately that is the name of the game... not everyone will click on your ads for whatever reason. Work on the creatives... keep an eye on how the various words perform and you will get the results you can make money with.

Is Google aware of this or I just run into "dum" customers? I don't have any studies or figures to back me up, volco - but I do have three plus years experience 'in-the-trenches-with-advertisers' as an AdWords customer support person - and I can assure you that users do see and click on the ads, in pretty fair numbers. :)

And, volco, I wish you every success with AdWords!

I can't count the times that someone has told me they don't see/click ads and then I've sat and watched them click on one in the next 5 minutes.

Another time when someone told me that, I asked them what they thought of the listings in blue at the top of the page, the answer was 'I like those and usually click on them, Google knows how to put the most relevant sites there'.

It seems there's a large difference between people who don't think they click on ads and their actual behavior.
