As some here may already know, the link exchange service offered by www.powerlinks.com pushed the limits of Google's rules and got the site banned. As a year long subscriber (now unsubscribed as of today) who has enjoyed good ranking (with exception regarding the last two months), what can I expect?

I've cut all my ties to powerlinks, but will this be enough?

I'm kind of kicking myself here as I became aware that I was doing a bad thing about 6 months. Unfortunely, it felt too good being at the top and I think my judgment became clouded.

Any thoughts? I can see my powerlink backlinks fading out, but my natural backlinks are still holding out and I've had no change in PageRank.

If that was the problem, then you have fixed it. The trouble is, you can never be sure what caused the ban.

I wonder why the DP Coop and the Link Vault have been spared.

if it was algorithmic it may clear in time. if it was manual ban then you have to plead your case I think.

Of interest, guys, it has been 12 hours since I cut my ties with powerlinks and Yahoo has now begun to re-rank my site in the top results (after two months of poor ranking). I'm hoping Google extends me the same grace.

The only way that I can see me getting re-ranked so quickly over on Yahoo is that it was an automated penalization.
