Has anyone used advertising.com as their SEM agency? If so, can you tell me how it did for your company and why you choose them? If not, can you tell me why you didn't go with them?
Any information or feedback that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated?

I HEAR negative things, however, I don't trust some sources and am sure you'll get a decent response here :)

They don't appear to offer organic SEM - just managed PPC, own-network advertising and various other marketing / media services. To be honest they seem more media / advertising focused than search so I wouldn't really call them a SEM agency as such. Can't comment on their abilities, quality of their service though.
Depends really what objectives you have for your spend. "SEM" I would consider to include organic search and major SE PPC - there would be other elements but those are the core. However, there are a great deal of other marketing opportunities online, which don't directly fall under the remit of search engine marketing.
I would suggest refining your objectives and looking for agencies that not only promote those services, but have quality information available to them. A media firm that "does" PPC or a web development firm that "does" organic SEO don't always provide the same level of service as specialist agencies.
