View Full Version : Google getting slow to index?
I recently redesigned a site and put 301 redirects from all the old pages to the corresponding new pages. Googlebot promptly spidered the site, indexed the new pages and all the old pages went to a URL only listing. That was on the first of this month, and each of the new pages has been changed at least 3 times since then as improvments to the new site were made.
Googlebot has been visiting the site regularly, (647 visits so far this month with the last visit yesterday) but the newest cached page I can find is July 14th.
Perhaps Googles huge index is getting to be a bit hard to handle?

No doubt it being spammed by its recent sitemap rollout, wouldn't be helping the cause either...

Yep, I am seeing something similar - about July 13th/14th Cache dates.
I think something is brewing. :)

yeah noticed delays on the 22nd fresh dates the other day, they basically only displayed these fresh dates for half a day then quickly went to 23rd.
some datacenters reporting 24th, should be through soon.
indexing patterns across the board on Google have been a bit slower on some days.
but all is generally fine.
some sites that used to be 'authority' sites that i manage, don't get new pages indexed new fresh dates anymore, there's about a week or so delay with them before there ranking.

Same thing happened to me...July 12th cache date
Not really concerned though, it's probably just slowing down

well it's the 29th here in australia and where still seeing 26 fresh tags.
they actually have been considerably alot slower this past week with updating fresh dates and indexing new pages off authority domain names.
there a day or 2 behind the 8ball imo.
hopefully they will be quicker next week.
