hello
I have been trying to submit my site to the google directory for about a year - i noticed last week that the editor of this criteria is a mean person who i know and does not like me and sees my site as competition - is there anyway i can contact google and ask them to give my a site a fair chance and be added - all the feed back forms just give automated responses
and as i understand it the editor of each section decides which sites are added which leaves it open to abuse :(

You can't submit to the Google directory, they just use their flavor of the ODP directory, arranged their way.
Submissions are made through ODP directlly, and if you feel there is some kind of abuse, go through the site, find the link to report it and it will be checked out.

Yes thats what i was trying to do submit to the ODP - im sure this person who has set her self up as editor of that catagory is rejectiing all my submissions for no good reason - i have filled in a reoport but they all seem to be automated responses
If your claims are correct, the editor will be removed. If they are not correct, the editor will not be removed.
BUT:
rejectiing all my submissions for no good reason
Does this mean you have submitted more than once? The guidelines say submit only once!!! If you submit a few times, thats probably OK - any more than that, you are close to spamming DMOZ - do you think that might be a good reason to reject a site?
How do you know you have been rejected and your site is just not waiting to be reviewed? It can normally take from minutes to years to get reviewed.
Generally, everytime you re-submit, the new submission just overwrites the previous one with the new date, so if editors sort the unreviewed by date (most do), you keep moving your site to the back. This could just simply be a case of you putting yourself at a disadvatage and you have not been reviewed yet.
What is the url?

rejectiing all my submissions for no good reason Is it one site you're submitting or when you say "all" are you referring to several sites?
are you referring to several sites?
If they are several sites, then they have probably been legitimately rejected as "related sites". If all the submissions are deep links from the same site, then that is also against the guidelines and legitimately rejected.

no i have just one site - and im trying to get it listed in pop music under a specific artists name
when i say all - i mean i try to submit the same home page to the directory (under the specific srtist ) once every few months - and it never gets accepted - i dont even get a response
I email the editor about it - and she said she has seen it there but hasnt had time to review it - but as i fiirst submitted a year ago - i think she is delibratly been obstrutive
once every few months
Which is against the guidelines.
and she said she has seen it there but hasnt had time to review it - but as i fiirst submitted a year ago - i think she is delibratly been obstrutive
As it can take anywhere from 2 minutes to several years for sites to get reviewed in any category, what evidence do you have that she is being delibratly obstructive?, given that you keep over-writing your previous submissions with the new date as you resubmit - to an editor that just makes the site appear as a new submission --- I think you may have brought this on yourself.

- but i know this person as ive said - and she has caused me many problems in the past - i have no evidence - i was wondering if my site could get a fair review by someone elseIMHO if there have been other problems in the past that could put a different slant on things, but not being an editor and knowing nothing beyond what "outsiders" know, which is very little, I've nothing to say in that respect.
If it's a possibility that unrelated personal issues are impacting the submission and how fairly it's being treated, other than the over-writing issue, maybe you should confidentially send a PM with the URL so another editor has a chance to review the situation.
but if i give my URL she will know ive been complaining about her on a public forum - i have enough problem with her at it is - wherever i go she seems to be there
PM me the URL

>>If they are several sites, then they have probably been legitimately rejected as "related sites".
I never really understood that. How similar do sites have to be to be 'related sites' if the same person owns them. If I had a general fan site about Britney Spears and a site which sells Britney merchandise (I don't - I promise :) ) would they be too related to have both listed?
I've seen an example before where sites were on a similar subject and owned by the same person and feedback was that they were 'too similar' but I really couldn't see why they both couldn't be listed.
