Hello,

I have put up an experimental page before planning a site redesign.

The page went to position 8 on Google for my target keyword almost immediately.

But on Yahoo, it is not ranked yet for the same keyword after six weeks. Yahoo has evidently indexed the page, because if I search for a long sentence from the page, Yahoo does return it.

MSN has evidently not even indexed the page yet.

What do I have to do to get ranked in MSN and Yahoo?

John

Yahoo seems to favor 'on the page' optimization factors whereas Google weighs more heavily on 'off the page factors' such as link popularity, backlinks, anchor text, etc.

With that said, how well have you optimized the 'on the page' factors such as title tags, body copy, alt attributes, etc.?

Thanks for the reply, David. Here is what I've done.
target keyword: wooden wedges
page: http://www.brownwoodprod.com/wedges.htm

I'd remove this from your index page as a starter

meta·HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH"·CONTENT="0;·URL=welcome.asp"

Took only a momentary glance, but you do not appear to be using meta description tags on your interior pages. For Yahoo! it is a good idea to include them.
