I just got a file handed to me. Written by some bloke that wouldn't even return my email, more than 9 months ago.
Do I remember who they were? Of course. It's not often I write a fellow SEO / SEM person and NOT receive a reply back.
So here I am, sitting on this piece of paper, prepared by this individual. A "proposal" if it can be called that.
Filled with outdated information, incorrect assumptions, and details on how ranking algos worked about 2 years ago in some cases, one year ago in others...and how 'so & so' has an 'algo' when - it's not an engine anymore, it's been retired. :)
I learned a while ago, as I've been around the block far too many times to think about, that I should never burn bridges. That means being courteous in email, forums ;) etc. If my email gets ignored by some bloke, and then they email MY firm, wanting to provide services...do you think I'm going to want to hire them?
