Google Desktop feature... I thought I had read about this but was reminded about it today and have not seen a posting about it so maybe it is new.

It's been out since last September: Google Releases Search Deskbar (http://searchenginewatch.com/searchday/article.php/3105611)

Yes I find it more useful than the Toolbar (since that doesn't work with Opera). An even more useful Deskbar is that from Hotbot (http://www.hotbot.com/tools/). I find that's the fastest way to do a whole variety of searches including Yahoo!.
