A bit of a conundrum here that I would very much like some help with...
A client here in Scotland has a website aimed at businesses in the UK. Checking their rankings manually on Google gives the results we need as we are interested on where they are for searches done in the UK. In other words, since we are all in the UK and the site is hosted in the UK, Google returns the rankings that our target market will see.
They are launching a similar site in the US, hosted in the US. The question is, how can I check rankings as seen by the target market in the US? Using google.com from the UK returns UK-based results because G knows my IP address is in the UK.
I use a number of tools to check ranking of course and some have proxy servers which may (but only 'may') be in the US. So I can't necessarily trust those results.
Is there a way to check rankings through a proxy in the US to be sure I see what the US searcher sees?
Many thanks
