Hello
if u know 1 week ago google update his directory.
imho a lot of changes.
but for me, the most interesting question is:
why some sites, which are listed 4-5 times in google (and dmoz) dir are dropped to the end of results pages , whith the strange /images/cleardot.gif pic in the place of PR. (btw this image is missed: The requested URL /images/cleardot.gif was not found on this server.)
for example pls check this pages
http://directory.google.com/Top/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Infectious_Diseases/
http://directory.google.com/Top/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Immune_Disorders/Immune_Deficiency/AIDS/
scroll down, and u'll see what i mean?
is it mean any sort of ban, penalty, filter?
what mean this cleardot.gif, which even isn't on their server (imho it's something new)
thx

Hi, alexo. When they're at the bottom with no green bar like that, it means they dont have any PR, or that it isn't showing yet if they do have PR.

Hi, alexo. When they're at the bottom with no green bar like that, it means they dont have any PR, or that it isn't showing yet if they do have PR.
thank you
why i ask this question.
because one of my site is in the same situation (dispaled in google dir with this cleardot.gif). and 10-14 days ago it have PR 6 in google dir
1. site => which is dropped from google 3 months ago (may be under Bourbon update).
2. site => on which PR is vice versa (this 2 months). I mean toolbar results;
if usually:
homepage have X PR
Subpages X - (1-2) PR
subsubpage X- (2-5) PR
on my site:
homepage 4PR (listed in google dir)
some subpages PR 5 (some of them are listed in G dir)
Print version page PR 7
3. searching in google www.domain.com
on different datacenters
a) domain.com (without www, descript and title)
b) domain.com/news/ (3-4 years old homepage, which is 301 redirected to canonical homepage )
c) sorry no result
4. etc
so that's why i need to know ... is results from G dir, the primary factor for all this ..
or it's secondary purpose ?
thx once again.

so that's why i need to know ... is results from G dir, the primary factor for all this ..No alexo, the Google directory is just a copy of the ODP (http://dmoz.org) that Google sorts differently than ODP does. Google sorts it by PageRank as default.
It's a separate issue from the search results, but it sounds like if your site had a PR6 and now has none there may have been some kind of problem.

yes, unfortunately i think so.
what it can be? banned by google? but why in this case he still display this sites in his directory? or search database.
2. if 10 days ago my site have ~500 pages indexed by google (link:domain.com), now every day i check +2-4K progress (today i check ~16000) and most of them with title and description .
so if he ban any site, why he start to crawl and index this sites? nonsense
3. what do u think? may be it's glitch [:-)] of google? if even he cann't find canonical page by "www.domain.name" search.
i understand that it's the best choice for be (if it's glitch), but as we know google have a lot of problems last 2 months.
Imho, sitemap and guidelines change is the substantiation of this.
it's amazing to suggest webmasters to use beta version of python script, if 98% of sites are on sharing host and don't have any ssh access.
or 90% of owners of the sites, don't know how what's php of ftp, or even.
so , for what he make this sitemap? for group of webmasters (as i) , who think how to increase their site posistions in google.?
in this case, call ur se ... "SE for Webmasters" and don't tell to all users ,that searching in ur search engine, we can get , what we need.
IMHO content/ Eval :-(
P.s. sorry, for this lyric :-)
