I remember some time ago when Google stated they were doing away with the "tiny" text on the page.
Anybody have any idea where they draw the line?
Many of my pages have 10 pixel verdana.

As far as I know, you are safe until you move below 8px, though I've seen 6px show up in non-spammy ways that apparently were not touched.
Anything lower than that simply is not visible to humans, and the stuff that really sets the engines off are the 1px stuff - that's obviously over the line and by definition illegible - I don't even think it's possible to form latin alphabet letters with less than 4px to work with.
I would personally consider anything at or below 4 px to automatically be spam, and 5-7px to be in a danger zone, subject to review (or used in conjunction with other "aggressive" techniques)

thanks Ian, I've got about 95 pages with this, and it alone could make an enormous difference.

Your site should be designed with the human visitor in mind in order to succeed in the long run. If you are thinking about small font sizes as a keyword stuffing technique, you are likely to penalized at worst, waste your time at best.

Obviously, that's why I'm asking what is considered "small text"
